You can buy adaptors that plug between mic lead and guitar amp that will match up the differing impedances, matching mic and amp.
Essentially, you’ll need a matching impedance adaptor – female XLR to male jack.
In my opinion, buying a separate amp for vocals makes much more sense, because it will sound a lot better overall than a guitar amp.
What Amp Is Best For Vocals?
The best way to hook up vocals is to use a PA speaker system, however, this is not always possible to do, because of the fact that PA systems tend to take up more space and are much louder.
Luckily, you can use either buy a smaller amp that’s made especially for vocals or you can buy an acoustic guitar amp.
Acoustic guitar amps enable you to not only play your guitar through the amp but also hook up a microphone and play vocals through the amp.

Can You Use a Guitar Amp as a Headphone Amp?
As long as your guitar amp has a headphone input, you should have absolutely no problem using your guitar amp as a headphone amp.
But using a big bulky guitar amp may get a bit annoying and because of this, you may want to purchase a smaller headphone amp that’s a little more portable.
These types of amps come in a variety of sizes and are also extremely inexpensive, which is nice when you are on a budget or aren’t looking to spend hundreds of dollars on a guitar amp just for headphone use.
