It doesn’t matter if you want to sound like Black Flag, Green Day, or one of those poppier punk bands that seem to be popular nowadays, there is definitely a guitar pedal that will give you the sound you are looking for.

- Can also be used with Bass Guitar
- Won’t break the bank
- Works really great as a stand alone fuzz pedal

- This pedal is now made in China
- Batteries in this pedal don’t last very long.
- Sounds rather “muddy” on extended range guitars

- Doesn’t have the best tone compared to the other pedals on this list.
Final Thoughts
Almost any type of distortion pedal can be used to create some really kick-ass punk rock riffs when you optimize the pedal for your specific set up.
It should also be noted that you don’t absolutely need any guitar pedal at all to sound like a punk rock guitarist. After all, the Ramones guitarist didn’t even use a pedal. He just set up his amp to the right settings and it complemented his guitar.
However, the above mentioned pedals definitely offer a ton of convenience when trying to obtain the punk rock sound that works for you without having to adjust your amp constantly.
